Dining at Penn

Philadelphia is home to some of the country's best and most unique dining—in every price range.

From cheesesteaks to some of the best restaurants in the country, Philadelphia is a city for foodies. Here at Penn there are a variety of dining choices on and around campus, from inexpensive fare to gourmet feasts. Penn Dining provides flexible meal plans, including daily entrees, vegetarian selections, and a salad bar in each dining room. Kosher? No problem.

Penn dining halls feature wide-ranging menus and even a Guest Chef Series, where chefs from fine local restaurants take over a dining hall for a night and create a special menu. Penn Dining is also committed to sustainable local agriculture.

But campus food is more than just dining halls. A wide range of restaurants surround campus, including White Dog Cafe, a pioneer in supporting sustainable agriculture. For a quicker bite, you can hit the trucks—fresh-air food plazas feature vendors of ethnic cuisines serving tasty dishes from their carts. Or you can head to Center City and enjoy some of the best in fine French and Italian dining. No matter which way you turn or what your budget, fresh local food is everywhere.

And, of course, it's never too late to go grab a little study food. Campus area restaurants cater to late night patrons. Some Penn students have even made a career of late night snacking!
