College of Liberal and Professional Studies
Penn’s College of Liberal and Professional Studies (LPS), housed in the School of Arts and Sciences, offers a Bachelor of Arts program that allows highly qualified adult students to earn a degree through rigorous course work at a pace that suits their schedules. Students earn the same degree as students in the College of Arts and Sciences and are able to choose from among more than 50 majors. Courses are offered in the evenings or during the day, and students attend part or full time. Please note that some majors may be completed in their entirety through evening attendance, while others may require attendance in both day and evening courses.
Students interested in a major in the Arts and Sciences who have taken a significant break in their education, worked full time, or are working professionals for whom the social aspect of college is not central to what they seek in their college experience may wish to contact LPS directly.
Students who have been denied admission to any bachelor’s degree program at the University of Pennsylvania must wait one year before applying to the LPS Bachelor of Arts program.
Students interested in applying to the College of Liberal and Professional Studies do not apply to Penn through the Common Application, and should visit the College of Liberal and Professional Studies website for details.
