College of Liberal and Professional Studies
Penn’s College of Liberal and Professional Studies (LPS), housed in the School of Arts and Sciences, offers a Bachelor of Arts program that allows highly qualified adult students to earn a degree through rigorous course work at a pace that suits their schedules. Students earn the same degree as students in the College of Arts and Sciences and are able to choose from among more than 50 majors. Courses are offered in the evenings or during the day, and students attend part or full time. Please note that some majors may be completed in their entirety through evening attendance, while others may require attendance in both day and evening courses.
Students who have been away from a formal academic environment for some time and are interested in liberal arts studies may wish to apply directly to LPS.
Students who have been denied admission to any bachelor’s degree program at the University of Pennsylvania must wait one year before applying to the LPS Bachelor of Arts program.
Students interested in applying to the College of Liberal and Professional Studies not apply to Penn through the Common Application. For more details, please visit the College of Liberal and Professional Studies website.
